The Jewett City Savings Bank Foundation donated $ 13,000 to six local pantries. The Foundation awarded $ 3,000 in grants to two pantries: The Friends of Assisi Food Pantry in Danielson and Saint Mary Food Pantry in Jewett City. A grant of $ 2,500 was awarded to the PIN Food Pantry project in Moosup. The Jonnycake Center in Westerly received a $ 2,000 grant, the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center received a $ 1,500 grant, and a $ 1,000 grant to United Way of Southeastern Connecticut will fund the distribution of mobile pantries at the Griswold Senior Center.
